It was built to block the Phrom River on the Khun Phai mountain range, to generate electricity and benefit agriculture. It is a freshwater fish breeding ground and a natural attraction with cool weather all year round. It is worthy of being known as Switzerland in Thailand, with a hospice and restaurant.
